Sneak Peek from the next exhibition

I've been binge-painting again, . . . not much sleep, . . . but happy with the results thus far. I thought I'd post one of the paintings going to the next exhibition.

He is Sad Mr Grimace

I wanted to show a subtle sadness to his expression and also maintain the level of kindness in his face that I like to imply in most of the characters that I paint.

He's part of a family of underground dwellers that usually live under old oak trees.
They usually don't like to pose for photographs because the flash makes their hair stand up.

Very nice work Travis. I love the subtlety in your paintings.

How long does it take to paint one piece on average.

You captured that slight sadness, but he still looks approachable. I think his bowtie might be the most adorable thing I've ever seen. Great job on his eyes, they're arresting and you can't help but be drawn to them as the focus of the painting. This is wonderful!
